Where to eat in Jurerê

Jurerê’s food scene is a celebration of flavors, with options for every palate, from fine dining to beachside snacks.

Seafood

Seafood is the star of the local cuisine. A must-try on the island is the sequência de camarão, a tasting menu of shrimp cooked in many ways. Another classic is tainha (mullet), which is only fished between May and August, so everyone looks forward to it.

Something for everyone

Jurerê also has Italian, Mediterranean and Japanese restaurants, steakhouses with excellent cuts and vegan options.

Beachside snacks and drinks

For something more casual, the beach bars and kiosks serve cockle pastries (pastel de berbigão), breaded shrimp and salt-cod fritters, among other treats. Pair them with a fresh-fruit caipirinha or one of Santa Catarina’s many craft beers.

How to get to Jurerê

By plane

Most guests arrive at Hercílio Luz International Airport (FLN), in the south of the island. From there it’s about 35 km to Jurerê along the SC-401 highway. Taxis, ride-hailing apps and car rentals are available at the airport.

By car

Enter the island via the Hercílio Luz Bridge or the Pedro Ivo Campos Bridge and follow the SC-401 highway north. Continue for about 20 km, through the Itacorubi, Cacupé and Santo Antônio de Lisboa neighborhoods. At the Jurerê roundabout, take the exit signposted for Jurerê. You’ve arrived!

Use a navigation app and, in high season and on holidays, leave early: traffic on the SC-401 can get heavy.
